Attack of my Attention Deficit Disorder

I saw this really awesome idea over at Sawdust and Paperscraps  that you can see here and I had to stop doing what I was doing, take down all of my pictures in what we call our "hall of fame" and color coordinate them.  It was very time consuming, but I'm all about the outcome and the outcome this time is good!  Here is my before picture (I'm not so great at picture taking, but ADD prevents me from reading instruction manuals- or tutorials for that matter)!  So, here is my stairway before and after:
        Ugly mismatched frames:

This was my focal point.  My favorite frame from a dear friend.
And here it is all nice and matchy matchy...

Here are some close ups of how I painted and distressed them...

I couldn't stop there, so here is the top of my stairs...

and here is the upstairs hallway...

and I found a cool place in my room for my canvas...

and have you ever had a favorite frame, but no current picture that you deemed "frame worthy"?
That is what I've got going on here:
One of these days I'll get a picture in that there frame.  Have a great Friday!  P.S.  Anyone know why I have the huge gap of empty space at the top of this post?  When I try to edit the post there isn't a big gap like that.  I'm still new at all of this ;)

  1. What a nice pop of color! I love painted and distressed frames. What a happy staircase wall!

I'm not really sure about the gap thing. I'm new to blogging, myself. If I figure it out...I'll drop you one.

    Have a nice weekend!

  2. oooh, I love this frame wall! So much fun color and I love how you used different colors on the same frame! Thanks for linking up to my Friday link party! Hope you see you back next week!
Oh, and I think you could get rid of that space if you went to you html tab on your posts, and simply deleted the extra spaces from there. Sometimes that works better than the normal post page. Not sure why and not positive it will work, so good luck!

  3. I have a hallway full of frames that I have been thinking about painting, but I never thought about color coordinating them instead of using just one color---it looks great! I can't help you with the gap on your blog page...I'm really new at this too and I have no idea...sorry! You asked me about how I got the dark color to come through the night stand I painted...I did not use a glaze this time because I liked the way it looked without it. It is from the spots I didn't sand so the actual wood would show through! Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your sweet comments!

  5. Welcome to the ADD club. It is a blessing and a curse at the same time. I saw your response on Funky Junk. As Niecy Nash on Clean House says: Put on your big girl pants and get to getting! Pick one thing and finish it. If you are on a Navy base, you must have a thrift shop. There should be all sorts of things in there. People should be moving in and out of your base all the time. There should be lots of furniture available and a need for furniture and things also. Teach a class. Are you at Pearl Harbor? Good luck Ann
